My friend Ginger wrote this for her blog and gave me permission to post it on my blog. I thought it was very profound!
I've decided people are like butterflies. Our kids are like the caterpillars when they are little. Parents are like the cocoon. We shelter them as they grow and as they change (puberty). But then before long they are wanting out of that shell and they start trying to get out. They want to be free and spread their wings. So they start pushing and stretching to try to get out... I've decided the whole experience is a very painful process... for the cocoon!

I don't look forward to teenager years...
That's one great thing about getting a slow start on the whole motherhood thing. You get to go first! I try my best to keep 'em small and close!
